Agreement

By downloading or using For The Hobby ("the App"), developed by Bishop Technology Solutions, LLC ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

For The Hobby is a sports card collection management app for iOS. It allows you to catalog cards using manual entry or AI-powered scanning (including barcode scanning for graded card certification lookup), track financial data including market price lookups, manage collections, view analytics and sales reports, find card shows, browse hobby news, maintain wishlists, and organize your card inventory. The App is free to download with optional in-app purchases and subscriptions ("Pro") that unlock additional functionality.

User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter into the App, including card details, financial figures, and photos.
  • You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data using the App's export and backup features.
  • You must comply with all applicable laws when using the App.

Financial Data Disclaimer

The App allows you to enter purchase prices, estimated values, and track profit/loss for your card collection. These are user-entered estimates and do not constitute financial advice, professional appraisals, or guaranteed market values. For The Hobby is a personal tracking tool and should not be relied upon for insurance claims, tax filings, or investment decisions without independent verification.

The App's market price lookup feature displays data from third-party sources including SportsCardsPro. These prices reflect recent market activity and are not guarantees of current or future card values. The App's PSA certification lookup feature retrieves grading data from PSA's public API. Certification data is provided for informational purposes only and should be independently verified.

Collection Reports Disclaimer

Any reports generated by the App (including Collection Reports and Sales Reports) are based on data you enter. They are personal records, not professional appraisals or certified valuations. They should not be used as the sole basis for insurance, legal, or financial decisions.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services to provide certain features. Your use of these features is subject to the respective third party's terms of service and privacy policies:

  • SportsCardsPro — Market price lookups. Card details (player name, year, brand, set, card number) are sent to retrieve pricing data. No personal information is transmitted.
  • PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) — Graded card certification lookups. Certification numbers are sent to PSA's API to retrieve grading data. No personal information is transmitted.
  • eBay — Market data reference. The App provides links to eBay sold listings for price comparison. No data is sent programmatically.
  • Supabase — Backend services for card show listings and hobby news content in the Discover tab. No personal collection data is sent to Supabase.
  • TelemetryDeck — Privacy-focused app analytics. The App collects anonymous usage signals through TelemetryDeck to improve the App. TelemetryDeck does not collect personal data, device IDs, or IP addresses. See our Privacy Policy and TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy for details.

We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions processed by Apple through the App Store. All purchases are subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings under your Apple ID. Refund requests should be directed to Apple. Current subscription options and pricing are displayed within the App and on the App Store product page prior to purchase.

Intellectual Property

The For The Hobby name, logo, and app design are the property of Bishop Technology Solutions, LLC. You retain ownership of all content you create within the App (photos, collection data, notes). Sports card images, player names, and team logos shown within the App belong to their respective owners.

Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Your collection data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not access or store your collection data on our servers. Certain features (market price lookups, certification lookups, card show listings, and hobby news) communicate with third-party services as described in the "Third-Party Services" section above. The App uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous, privacy-focused analytics as described in our Privacy Policy.

Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms. The App uses Sign In with Apple, and Apple manages age restrictions for child accounts through Family Sharing.

Limitation of Liability

For The Hobby is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bishop Technology Solutions, LLC shall not be liable for any data loss, financial loss, or damages arising from your use of the App. This includes but is not limited to loss of collection data, inaccurate value estimates, or service interruptions.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bishop Technology Solutions, LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all local data. iCloud data can be managed through your device settings.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
